El Berier’s main export was cattle and cotton, the latter being cultivated in his Blue Nile project “El Souki” which was one of the largest projects in the Blue Nile and was later nationalized in the 1960s’. Mohamed Ahmed El Berier was also the major exporter of livestock in the region. After El Berier’s death in 1969, the family business was split into separate entities led by different sons. One of these entities was led by El Berier son, Moawia.
The young El Berier’s business was involved in Real Estate and General Trading. In the 1984, Moawia El Berier founded Moawia El Berier Group of Companies to which he was and still is sole owner. In 1990, Moawia El Berier established Moawia El Berier Industrial Group. The Group of Companies grew steadily to a number of different activities in:
